All you geeks probably know this already, but I didn’t and I use Windows programs 6+ hours per day. Alt Tab as most know, pressed repeatedly while holding down Alt, moves around the open windows til you get to the one you want. Because I may have >20 windows open it can take many keystrokes to get to the one I want.

You can speed this up by keeping Alt & Tab pressed, and using the arrow keys. eg, pressing the up arrow takes you to the bottom row of icons, even if it is not visible on the screen. This IMO make Alt Tab much more powerful than Aero Flip.

Thanks for the hint. What I’m asking affects this behavior.

I came to this thread because I would like to see my windows 7 alt tab interface stay “always on top.” As it is, the mini-windows get lost behind some of the programs.

For instance, on a two monitor system when the tabbed window is displayed in #2 all the “snapshots” are displayed in #1 on top of a bunch of outlines; sort of like XP. When the tabbed window is in #1, it covers up the “snapshots.” With enough windows open it gets unruly.

      Suggestions?

I know this is an old thread, but I just found it. Thanks Jon, for that cool tip. 🙂
