When I want to drag a windows frame such as in File Explorer when resizing the border separating the folder or file list frame, the time the double-arrowed drag icon is visible is way to short for my failing fine motor skills to get it to display. I would like to increase the duration the icon is visible or to have the area the icon operates in increased so I can zero in on it. It’s display is far too short.

AskWoody LoungerJune 7, 2020 at 7:05 pm #2270237I use a little utility called “Resize Enable”, which runs at system startup but has no impact. When I put the mouse cursor on the edge of a window, the double arrow icon appears and stays there indefinitely, until I either drag the border or move the mouse cursor away. It’s free, and works OK in Windows 10.

AskWoody PlusJune 8, 2020 at 2:02 pm #2270474Thank you very much for your suggestion.
I did download Resize Enable and rebooted. The utility did work on Win 10 1909 and it did allow the double arrow resize icon to remain at a window’s edge. My problem is when moving the drag line between two adjacent frames within the same window, the cursor changes to a double arrow, but is frustratingly brief in appearance. It appears for a very short time which is hard to center on the line and clicking the left mouse button to grab it. As an example, open a File Explorer window. In the window, there are 2 displays, the Navigation display and the File display. If I want to give more room to display one or the other within the same window, the double arrow cursor to do that is displayed only briefly. I am seeking a way to make it easier to grab and drag. I’d think this could be made an Accessibility issue for those with impaired fine motor control of their hands.

AskWoody LoungerJune 8, 2020 at 10:50 pm #2270686Strange. I don’t have that problem. In File Explorer I can move the divider left or right, and the double arrow is there for as long as I want it. But it goes away when I move the mouse, so perhaps you have your mouse cursor at some super sensitive setting? Try fiddling with the mouse properties, see if you can slow it down or desensitize it. As you say, it could be a fine motor control thing.
