I don’t know whether to cry or throw up. I have been saddled with a project that should not be mine… oh me of little to no knowledge of working with Project. I have no time for whining (though I will anyway) but here is my infuriating dilemma… I have typed in a few task names and some are kinda long…. so I want them to wrap to the next line as I don’t want to make one long line. However, say the first project name is 2 lines long and the second is only one line… I’m trying to have the rows move independent of one another. As of right now I have no clue how to do this. I know it CAN be done because someone in my office was able to accomplish it but he had to go home before I could figure out what he was doing different. I tried to RTFM but couldn’t find a thing! Am I just using the wrong terminology? hairout
Oh yea… and the project is due Friday afternoon… and I don’t have all the info I’ll need to put in it… and I also realized that I don’t even have SR1! sigh The rows are really the least of my problems… but it’s a start! Thanks in advance!!!
    have fun

Here are some items to check for. In order for wrapping to work, the following conditions must be met:

      (1) Row Height > 1
      (2) Cells must be left aligned
      (3) There must be spaces between words. One long set of characters in the cell without spaces will not wrap. **This is where it typically fails.

If these conditions are all met then you should be able to have columns wrap as required.

Post back if this doesn’t work.

Gary, thanks for swooping in to my rescue…. fortunately, for now, we have decided not to use Project since the learning curve is too great to learn sufficiently in order to get the project done by Friday…. AND in other happy news, the tech guy just left my desk apologizing profusely about loading the wrong version of Project and leaving me with P2000-SR1 joy
maybe we’ll get a chance to use that later when we have more time to play with it…
Thank you again for taking a stab at it!! I thought I was toast if that was the version I would have to work with!
