Initial Setup Advice for Windows 11s

I have an order in for a Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (for $219!) – a “real” Windows system that comes with Win11s.  I use Macs for everything, but the occasional stupid program (e.g., Olympus and Sony camera firmware updates) that require turning off standard Mac security to install – so the IdeaPad will be my platform for these programs.  It’s been a while since I setup a new Windows system, and I hope someone can point me to the essential startup settings I need to manage.  (I already know how to turn off the “s” feature and I have a license for Start 11.).   I’ll bet that info is here somewhere.

I use Win 10 decrapifier along with some tweaks and normal startup settings to disable or remove bloat, which works fine on Win11. You may want to have a look https://community.spiceworks.com/scripts/show/4378-windows-10-decrapifier-18xx-19xx-2xxx

Also, every system I had with “S” also had bitlocker enabled. I remove that first thing.

You really mean 11S?

Because that’s the version that only allows you to have apps from the Microsoft store. So you’ll want to turn that off, you won’t need a license you can just turn it off.
