I need to insert a wav file in my presentation and have it play automatically.

I can get it to play on the computer I create the presentation on, but when I email it or save it to another disk for play on another computer, it disappears.

It looks for the file on the hard drive rather than in the presentation.

Any way to make it part of the presentation?

I’ve tried creating an object, but that really hoses things up and it won’t let me play the file througout the presentation.

    Thanks.

This could be a 97/2000 difference, but if I insert a sound from a file, it seems to be embedded and portable. (I explored this only recently when I received a 334 megabyte presentation full of voiceovers!) Do you have a dialog like this when you right-click your sound icon?

I have those options, but I can’t get it to be “located” within the presentation.

I’ve tried dragging it in, inserting a file, and creating an object.

Each time the location is C:…my music…

How do I get it to be located within the presentation?

Try ‘Pack and Go’ (File – Pack and Go and then follow the wizard) and see if this does it.

Pack and Go allows you to collect together all the items needed for a presentation – including embedded sounds/videos etc.
I hope this helps with your problem.
      cheers

Under Tools/Options/General there is also an option on embedding sound file of a certain size. Make sure this is set to suit your presentation/file size as you see fit.
