I downloaded and tried to install the latest version of Ad Aware on my wife’s machine. Download was okay. On installation, it got about 80 percent through it and then I got an Error Message saying that the installlation could not be completed because of a problem with the Windows Installer. Any insight, fixes resolution that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated by both my wife and I.

    Thanks.

Was there an error code? Is the userid a member of the admin group?

Maybe you have already done this. . .
But my method of operation when I have such a problem….

      Get a cold beer….
I reboot and try to install again.
If that does not work, I remove the offending app and reboot and then download the app again and try again.
99% of the time it works for me.

If that does not work……I get another beer and do just as you did, Post here. Ha!

Also, I remember I had some problem with adware because I had Live Care runing too. So you miight want to make sure that there are not other ‘spyware’ type apps running while you are trying to install.
