Installing SP1 fails with STOP 7F (SP1)

Twice now (many months apart!) I have tried to install SP1 and landed myself with a blue screen on first restart with a STOP Number 7F.

This time I tried a Setup Repair using a slipstreamed XP SP1 CD but that failed in the same way.
I then Setup Repaired with the original XP CD and I’m back working fine but without SP1.

I have never seen this happen before or heard of it within my University (and I WOULD hear! ), so what gives?

A possible culprit is the Novell Client for Netware 4.83 (plus bits)

Thanks for the responses but niether actually addresses my problem. I guess it is rare. Maybe I’ll try a total rebuild when I have time.
