I have a ? concerning the Intel® Chipset Device Software Update  10.1.2.80 that showed up in windows update in the fall of 2016.  My issue is I inadvertently installed the update and now I am reading that Intel is addressing the issue with the update 10.1.1.38 .

I am running an Asus Z170 Pro motherboard and when I installed it initially the chipset version was 10.1.1.13 but now I see in device manager all of the chipset items are listed with the 10.1.2.80 chipset driver.

So my question is what is the best way to fix this?  I have reviewed the info from Intel:

    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/software/chipset-software/000023446.html

and was wondering if I should Roll Back the driver to the 10.1.13 driver or just go forward with installing  the 10.1.1.38 chipset driver?

Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

If you are seeing any unknown devices in device manager, try rolling back the driver. If that works and your SMBus functions return, you can choose to install the newer chipset drivers, but read the documentation to check for this being a resolved bug.
