Although nothing is wrong since doing so …  I allowed the 6/29 WU Intel Display Driver Update 26.20.100.7925. An HP Email about needed Updates  shows the Same Ver # ( But “Pending”) and it is my understanding for all Intel updates that HP “May” add a few spices to the original Intel recipe per my particular Desktop model #.

When HP releases their Version of This driver Update, would You roll back and Then Install the new HP release, or might I leave as is SINCE No Issue has arisen? Many are so guarded against WU Intel driver updates BUT in my life I’ve Never had a WU driver issue – so it’s confusing.

    Thanks as always!

I never install new drivers unless there is a problem with the current one(s).

Read the HP blurb to see what they have fixed / changed and if it’s nothing of note, stick with the existing.

      cheers, Paul

I started using the Intel driver & support assistant a few years ago on my HP ProBook G2 laptop and haven’t had any problems.

Don't take yourself so seriously, no one else does 🙂

How many times have you used it – and why?

How many times have you used it – and why?

It keeps my Wi-Fi card and Bluetooth updated and it has updated numerous times over the span of use. It also updated my Intel Graphics driver recently to the same version that HP recommends in a Security Advisory. The problem with HP is that the updated Softpac was pending forever but the intel update came out before the HP Softpac was released (same version #).

The fewer drivers you have installed, the less likely you are to hit problems, eg. when W10/Intel forces a graphics ‘update’ from the ‘old’ Windows drivers to Intel’s IRST (that are only required for Raid or SSD/Optane caching/acceleration).

These will automatically double your graphics drivers count (2>4+) and will require probably 4+ further Intel updates per annum – yet they don’t replace the ‘old’ drivers as they’re still loading, staying with those ‘old’ W7-era drivers that would be/must be ‘silently’ patched by WU at almost every opportunity.

You gain extra running/updating complexity for – nothing. Add HP’s bloatware into that equation and you could be trebling the graphics driver count plus adding ‘bonus’ HP bloatware running so you can ‘tweak’ the graphics settings – that you can already do natively and also via some Intel bloatware that’s running, or added to relevant right-click menus.

Yes, more ‘duplication’, added to other duplication so you can use native functions via multiple circuitous routes.

I download Intel, Nvidia…(Windows 10 DCH) drivers from the source.

      Latest Intel W10 DCH driver : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29674/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers

      WU drivers updates are blocked.
