I can go wireless on my laptop without any trouble. However, I cannot get to the Internet. We have to turn the proxy server off to connect and I have verified that the server is off. When I check for an ip address there is none. ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew produce an error:
Unable to contact your DHCP Server.
What is the problem here? And how do I fix this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Are you saying that you can successfully associate with the wireless router/access point but then you cannot get an IP address? In Windows XP, this usually seems to generate the message that you have “limited connectivity.”

In that case I usually power-cycle the router. grin

(Seriously, I have no idea how to debug that, and don’t have the patience to connect with a cable to see what might be wrong.)

I get 54 mbps going wireless. No messages about limited connection in this case.

Do you mean that you can connect to the LAN wirelessly but not to the Inernet? Can you post a screen shot of your IE Tools | Internet Options | Connections | Lan Settings? Have you checked the proxy server settings to make sure you are allowed to connect?
