I am trying to print of save a blog to take with me when I visit a friend who lives “off the grid” in a wilderness area.

I can pri8nt the blog but when I do several of the photos on the pages wrap from one page to the next. If I adjust the page to fit a picture then that adjustment carries through the entire document. If I then make a similar adjustment farther into the file it changes all the pages again, including the one I made the original adjustment to.

Is there a work around for this?

Any tips on saving the file so I can run it on my laptop when I get there?. Ideally, I’d like to save it as a PDF so I can manipulate it in Acrobat but that isn’t a format offered in the “save as” window.

I found that I can make decent PDF of web pages using Avant browser because it has a Save current page as image option. I use that to save a page as is in jpg format and then its easy to convert that image to PDF for scaling and scrolling purposes.

Thanks. I haven’t heard of the Avant browser.(sheltered life I guess) Where is it available?

If you download it use the secondary link just below either of the big green rectangle download buttons; downloads right from the company then. The Ultimate version is interesting because one has the option of using three different render engines (Chrome,FF and IE) but get the lite version if you’re just after the save page as image option. Avant had tabbed browsing long before any of the big three included it, heck, long before Chrome even existed!

There are quite a few free PDF printers that can be used to print from a browser, such as PrimoPDF, Foxit or PDFill.
There is also the PrintEdit browser Addon for Firefox that can edit out the undesired elements prior to printing.
And also, there are options to save the page as an Archive, which packages it into one file (rather than having the html and separate folder)

A still further option is to select the body text and images, then paste them into a document, adjust formatting and print.

Another browser that I would recommend for this task is QTWeb (http://www.qtweb.net)

It has an option to Save As .. PDF. Besides it is portable, so does not install anything on your computer.

I use it very often for precisely this reason, when I want to save a web page as a PDF.

It is not my primary browser (although it is very fast and I have not had anything bad happen to me when using it) because I am not sure how secure it is, but it works well for the purpose that you require.
