I have an Aptiva EQ1 with AMD K6 233Mhz and 32 mg ram.

My problem is whenever I start the pc I get the following message and can only reboot and start in safe mode.

    While initializing device IOS
Error: An IO subsystem driver failed to load
Either a file in the .iosubsys subdirectory is corrupt ot the system is low on memory.

    Can anyone suggest a solution???

    Thanks in advance

      Try to run Scandisk:
      1. Press Shift-F5 during bootup or from bootup menu, choose Command Prompt Only (option 6)
      2. From C prompt type SCANDISK and hit Enter.
      3. When prompted to rum surface scan, click YES
      4. Accept all fixes (you can skip Undo files creation).

If problem persists, you can replase files in IOSUBSYS folders with new copies from CABs on your installation CD, or reinstall Windows.
