I’m running Win 10 21H2.  I just noticed under Windows Update under settings that my Optional Updates have disappeared.  When I click to check for updates the dots just spin and spin.  Checking Downdetectors other have been mentioning that Windows Update and the Windows Store doesn’t seem to be updating either.  I decided to check my Windows Store app, and sure enough I can’t download app updates either.

It seems like something is going on, but others have said there are no issues on their end.  Anyone else seeing issues with Windows Update or Microsoft’s servers?  I don’t feel like doing a bunch or additional troubleshooting if the problem seems to be on the MS end.

    thanks

Definitely seems to be something with the Update servers.  A few minutes ago things were working fine again.  Windows Update was able to check for updates and my optional updates re-appeared!  I was also able to update a few apps via the Microsoft Store.

Now everything is back to being unable to check for update again.

This problem is likely on the Microsoft end. I noticed earlier when checking for updates that the usual Cumulative Preview was absent. Later, when I checked again the Cumulative Preview had returned. I am unable to provide a time when this occurred; however, as of now when I check for updates, I see the Cumulative Preview in the WuMgr queue.

It’s not you. It’s not just you.

Thanks for the reply.  It does seem like things are back to normal.  At least I didn’t go crazy with the troubleshooting and make things worse.
