I’ve been doing this since I started using XP and have notice and improvement in the speed of my computer does this apply to Windows 7? Also I have a separate partition for Program Files and My Documents can I still do this with 7?

Marc,
Hello.. I have just “hashed” this one out see this thread Page File The bottom line is …That it depends how much RAM you have installed, and if your running “7” with a 32 or 64 bit OS  Regards Fred
Just a thought – it is probably a good idea if you have an SSD for the operating system. Keep as much writing and rewriting on a separate data drive.
Unless the other drive is also an SSD then you will find it will slow down your computer if swap file comes into play as an ordinary HDD will be so much slower than an SSD or the ram.
