Hi Woody. removed 2 Java programs via control panel. Don’t know why I thought it was more complicated than that. Thanks again.

I don’t understand all this agony over disabling Java in Internet Explorer. Isn’t it as simple as the following (version 8.0):

Open Internet Explorer: Go to the top menu and select Tools > Manage Add-ons > Java > Disable (lower right corner) > Disable (Disable Add-on dialogue box) > Close (lower right corner).

Unfortunately, that method – which I publicized on the InfoWorld site – doesn’t work. CERT has come out and said that it’s only a stopgap measure, and doesn’t truly disable Java in IE.
