Hi, I have a crosstab query which takes information from a table which is updated daily with current booking information against routes and departure dates. This table has dates older than a week deleted as part of the daily update. The crosstab therefore shows the Route and Departure Date as row headings, the date (in 24/01/03 format) for today and the previous week, as the column headings (therefore there are always 7, but the first and last dates change daily), and the number of bookings as the value.

How do I/can I, write something which will show the difference at the point of update (i.e. today) between the last column’s booking value and the first’s ??

    Thanks for help. Marion

I’m not sure I understand which difference you are trying to compute – is it the difference for day 25/01 on 24/01 and 23/01? In any event, if records are being deleted in the base table, you may need to save the results in a table – to do that you can run an append query which uses the crosstab query as it’s data source. There are a few tricky details in doing that, but post back if I’m on the right track.

Just build another query based upon the Crosstab query. You will have to do this in code as the column names change in the crosstab query.
Do you want this query as the source of a report?
      Pat cheers
