I am using XP MCE SP3 and VISTA Home Basic SP2 .
From what I saw in your InfoWorld article and looking at Mozilla’s link (You called it #6) it makes me think this is a Windows 7 – Firefox issue and I don’t have to be bothered doing anything by my using Firefox on my two computers.
IE8 is only used here to get Windows Updates when You Say to do it.
Many Thanks for all the information You share with Us.

GuestMay 9, 2013 at 7:57 pm #54609In regard to the section reading:
“The Mozilla support forum reports that you can usually solve the problem by going into the Firefox about:config page and changing gfx.content.azure.enabled to false.” Most readers will not know how to get into “about.config” page and even in the “Mozilla support forum “reports” link it is not covered. For those that found this a show stopper:
Type “about:config” into the address bar, press Enter. Accept the warning. Search for “gfx.content.azure” without the ” symboles. -
