Yesterday, I ran the updates that were offered for my Windows 10 Pro system. The updates installed successfully. I checked the Update history, and “Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB3119142)” is listed as having been “Successfully Installed on 1/12/2016” _five_ times. Today, it “successfully installed” this update _six_ times.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Everything is working as far as I can tell and I get no error messages. There is something about this update that is not getting installed correctly.

Try uninstalling Visual C++ and reinstalling it from here:

Uninstalling all the versions of the software and then installing the version from the link provided by jwitalka seems to have stopped the problem. Yesterday and today, I didn’t get more versions of the update.

Thanks to jwitalka for this suggestion.

Does anyone know of a list of programs that use the Visual C++ runtimes? I don’t seem to have any programs that need it (after uninstalling all the versions of this software and rebooting, the system performed normally – and my key applications had no problems running).
