I keep getting KB4023057 again.ย ย I have used Windows Show/Hide to hide it several times, and it keeps reappearing.ย ย The description sounds like it will change settings to allow feature updates when I don’t want them.ย ย Does anyone know if this one is safe?ย Thanks.

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

ManagerNovember 3, 2018 at 5:50 pm #229747KB4023057 is part of the Windows updating/upgrading process. They keep releasing newer versions with the same KB number (so they are really not the same). Keep on hiding if you don’t want to upgrade. You CAN upgrade without it’s being installed when you are ready to do so.
If you are still on v1703, are you aware it is now out of support?

AskWoody PlusNovember 4, 2018 at 8:22 pm #230059I saw Woody’s post today about whether to upgrade and which version.ย ย Based on the comments I have seen, I guess I will try upgrading to 1803.ย ย Perhaps it is finally stable enough.ย I hate to have to deal with another upgrade in less than a year.ย ย It is probably better to get the latest version of 1803 right away before Microsoft replaces it with 1809.ย Thanks.

GuestNovember 7, 2018 at 12:07 pm #230970I have had a couple of minor issues.ย ย When I shut down the computer last evening, I got an error message that a memory location was inaccessible.ย ย ย Also, at one point when I was checking things after the upgrade, I lost most of control (mouse would not even move) for a few minutes.ย ย ย Something must have been running at a very high priority taking a lot of resources.ย ย I don’t know what either of those things was.ย ย However, I have not had any issues that prevented me from doingย my work.ย ย I will see if something is discovered later.
