Hello. I just wanted to let you very helpful people know what has transpired since November and the Microsoft Store problems and my need to do a repair upgrade.
I ran the recent patch and all went well.
Sticking with The monthly update topic – as a result of the repair upgrade wiping out my previous update history, (and hidden updates info) I received the WinRE update from January 2024 kb5034441/kb5042320 again.
And this time it actually installed. As well as the follow up KB5048239. I didn’t understand why I didn’t have sufficient partition space, but obviously, there was a registry error somewhere.
As far as Microsoft Store Apps – after the repair upgrade – my ability to view advanced settings (like print quality, color) when printing an image from within Photos App, using HP Smart, blanked out …all of the drop down menu text vanished. I went through all of the usual steps to fix HP Smart. But when I right-clicked the image and hit “print” only using HP Smart (not opening Photos App) , I could see the advanced settings.
When I posted on Microsoft Community Forum, they suggested I post it to Feedback Hub. Maybe a conflict with the HP Smart app. Many others have experienced this glitch.
The Photos App was a problem before I did the repair upgrade – I couldn’t open images at times until I open the app first.
And today, when I open an image sometimes the image doesn’t open in the foreground…it’s behind the windows explorer folder/file list.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Photos App, or repairing it doesn’t work. I have reported it.
