KB5034441 – WU d/l it, wushowhide doesn’t see it, then it disappears! :)

Just ran WU and 4 updates found: KB5034122, KB5034441, KB5034275, KB890830

Paused WU before they installed. Run wushowhide but finds nothing to hide. Continue WU. Starts installing some, then error 0x80070003.  wushowhide  now shows KB5034122 pending.

Click retry and KB5034122 downloads OK and installs. Restart PC. Run WU update again – nothing found. Look at History and only KB5034275 and KB5034122. No mention of KB890830 (Malicious Software Removal Tool x64) or KB5034441.

Run wushowhide – nothing to hide.

KB5034441 has gone but I’m not complaining. Must say that wushowhide’s user interface is dreadful: no going back to a previous screen. Have to exit and restart.

wushowhide can’t find updates when updates are paused.

Is this also true for Windows update minitool?

Yes. Windows Update, wushowhide, and WUMT all use the Windows Update Service to scan for updates. If Windows Update is Paused, none of the tools will work.

KB890830 shows up under “Other” when you look at update history.

LOL, couldn’t agree more about wushowhide’s user interface. It says “Detecting problems”; “Problems found”; Problems fixed”; etc. Good grief, who designs this stuff?
