Here are four lists of 3 words each. There is one word that could be added to all four lists; what is it (and why)?
1. side, view, salt
2. slide, lubber, line
3. ball, work, income
4. mail, valuation, bony

Well, actually the dynamics have changed a little bit. On the Tuesday night after the post 505,447 incident, we tried to put them back together again. It was Paul who then became very aggressive – John has been good as gold since.
We haven’t put them back together since then, so if they met up again now there really would be gerbil carnage
I suppose that means John will have to shoot his scenes seperately, using blue-screen technology. Not BSOD technology, though, hopefully…
Yes silly me.
I vaguely remember, when I was doing karate about 20 years ago of the cat stance, weight on the back foot flick of the front foot and calling it cat stance. I suppose the arms up stance here could be a crane stance but i am no expert… BTW I was aiming more for humour than accuracy of style
I love these “post puzzle solved” conversations, it kicks up all loads of interesting stuff(BTW pun intended sorry Charlotte )
ah, I remember Karate Kid “Polish On, Polish Off” or was it “Wax on, wax off”
I found this on the web:
“The Neko-Ashi-Dachi, or Cat Stance, is generally unique to the Okinawan styles. Almost all balance is shifted to the back leg as the slightly raised front leg comes perpendicular to the rear foot. The result is a leg that is prepared to strike almost instantaneously. It takes a second to enter Cat Stance, or no time at all if a skill roll is made.”
I remember sparring with my Black belt teacher when I was an orange belt and he was completely taken aback when I hoofed him by slipping into the cat stance…he hadn’t taught me!!! I had read it in a magazine anyway the long and short of it was that he hoofed me back…and it hurt. Anyway fighting days are over now, too many split lips
You mention: “Almost all balance is shifted to the back leg as the slightly raised front leg”.
In the “Crane stance” as depicted in the movie, you stand on one leg with the other upwards and arms out like wings. Whether the cat stance has this “pose” as well I do not know, nor do I know if the “Crane stance” is real. But the “gerbil picture” looks exactly like the stance the Karate Kid used in the film which they described as the Crane.
But, I bow to your expertise and experience. My knowlege comes from TV and movies (and I know that most is fictional, in america even the news may be…)
