I know Krebs on Security is a well-known website, but when I run Virustotal, it comes back with malware found.  That often happens on VT for sites that I don’t actually think are infected.  Are these examples of false positives???  How would I know?

I wanted to go to Krebs the other day and check something, but…. I don’t know….thanks. Donna

92 / 93 security vendors say it is OK. The one that flagged it is Quttera and I’m sure something similar happened when I checked out a different site the other day. Maybe Quttera have a problem with false positives.

Yeah I guess.  That happens a lot when I use VT and then I don’t know if the site is safe or not! So it is with false positives. But Krebs has to be safe, right???

Krebs has a solid reputation and I would have no qualms going there.

      cheers, Paul

I just ran the site through Virustotal and got a 0/93 score, so Quttera has changed their settings or definitions with regards to Brian’s site. The hits were probably old, as in from a couple of years ago. Here’s the link to the results I obtained:

It should open in a new tab so you don’t have to leave AskWoody. This post is being written at 10:35 AM, server time (Central Standard Time).
