I’m compiling & charting survey responses. The X-axis labels are the survey questions and they are long, some 60 characters. Each question needs to be displayed as a single line (not wrapped).

When I build a new chart, I am unable to control such things as amount of room assigned to the X-axis labels and often those labels wrap into 2 or more lines. I’d appreciate any help leading to more control, as the format of these charts is outside my authority.

I’m attaching a file with an old sample chart, created by a former employee, and a copy of my attempt.

    Thanks.

The workbook contains only pictures of charts. We can’t do anything with that.

Sorry – The “Barnes” set is formatted the way it should be. The ESP set is my clumsy attempt to duplicate the original arrangement. I have even created a chart type based on the desired format, but when I used the chart type, the labels still wrapped. The charts need to be printed on 8.5″ x 11″ paper.

        Thanks for your time.

You have to stretch the length of the area you allow for the chart to fill the portrait page and it should fit without wrapping the categories. Just make sure you select outside the chart range to print, if you print with the chart selected it print differently.
