I decided to update my windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 yesterday and the update did not finish for some reason and now my desktop computer will not boot into windows.

Tried to uninstall the offending update but it won’t work because the update didn’t finish installing.

I tried the windows repair thing and also a system restore with no success. I have been able to boot my computer into safe mode.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to restore windows so it will boot right. This is my main computer I use for most of my work.

    Thanks in advance

    Darrell

Normally we would suggest restore from your latest image backup, then restore your data from your data backup – which should be done every day.

The next step is to boot into repair mode, mount / connect a Windows install image and reinstall over the top, retaining your data.

3rd is to boot from a Windows install USB and install over the top, retaining your data.

Option 2 and 3 may mean you have to reinstall some apps.

Before you do any of that, make an image backup to an external USB disk. This saves all your data in case something goes pear shaped.

      cheers, Paul
