Has anyone got any information on when Microsoft will no longer be supporting Access 97?
(so I can finally switch to developing in A2000)

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

(so I can finally switch to developing in A2000)<<My understanding is that MS will discontinue A97 support in 2003. You might want to jump directly to XP, skipping A2000 entirely. (I'm in same boat, by the way).

AskWoody LoungerOctober 1, 2001 at 2:36 pm #544838I found this on the Microsoft support site
http://support.microsoft.com/directory/discontinue.asp?sd=gn
Just not sure what an “Offering Sign-Up End Date ” is ?

AskWoody LoungerOctober 3, 2001 at 11:45 am #545142>>I wonder if that means October 31st is last date for any Access 97 fixes ??<<
I don't really know. "Terminating support" can have a variety of meanings. Does it mean (like you suggested) date they stop making fixes? Does it mean they will no longer even support paying customers? Or what?

AskWoody LoungerOctober 3, 2001 at 12:21 pm #545152Yeap, very confusing
Shame, all I want is a nice clear statement from Microsoft that as of XXXX Access 97 is no longer supported. I can then make a case to my management, who can let the customers know that our Access 97 based products are no longer supported, and I can stop having to try and ensure the code is compatible in both 97 & 2000
