    I want to have a linked table linking to a txt file which does not end in txt (for long, complicated but good reasons). Any suggestions on how I can get this file to appear on the Linked Table wizard or is there another way

      The only extensions for text files that Access understands/handles are .txt, .csv, .asc and .tab. Any other extension leads to an error message. This restriction is hard-coded.
