Linking to Excel (Access 2000)

I am linking to an Excel file with 40,000+ lines. When I open the linked table in Access, only 16,300 lines show up. The same thing happens if I import the spreadsheet.

Am I missing a setting or something?

You are not missing anything. In checking the MSKB, I found that this is a known problem with Access97 (although no mention of such a problem with Access2000) and if the spreadsheet is stored in Excel97 format. The workaround is to open the spreadsheet in Excel prior to trying to import. Since you have a later version of Office, you might want to try opening the spreadsheet then use Save As to save it with the more recent Excel format.
