am trying to help a local Community Transport group keep track of
where their passengers get on/off the bus.
What I have in mind is a lap top in the bus connected to a GPS so that
when the driver clicks on a passengers name, the database will extract
the current GPS position and store it in a table which really only
needs Passenger name, date and time and GPS co-ordinate.
Is it possible to link Access to NMEA data from a GPS. My first
concern is the log file for the GPS is “live” ie constantly being
updated so I am not sure how you would get in.
    Any assistance much appreciated
    Steve

      Hi,
You might have a look at something like this. There appears to be a free version available. (Note: I have no experience of this product but it may be worth a trial download).

If you Google on “GPS fleet track” you get a huge number of hits in the US, but they tend to be commercial products (but cheaper than route diversions and hijacks!) See what you find Googling Down Under, and also see what you find in gpsinformation.net/.

I am not sure I understand what you are looking for but here are links to some software that hopefully may help.
