Little Boxes in Excel

I want to do straightforward editing on a worksheet. These little boxes in the upper left are interfering.

What are they, and how do I get rid of them?

Can you please provide a picture and point out the little boxes you refer to? The only “little boxes” I can think of that appear in Excel actually  appear in the lower right corner of each cell; those boxes let you create a list (typically numerical but not necessarily) by just dragging the little box.

If I could see a picture of what’s in your way, I might be able to help.

There is an uploaded file, clearly showing the boxes in the upper left.

Anyway, the problem is solved.

How do we insert pictures into a post? That would have been what I wanted to do here.

When you are editing, after attaching, there will be a link “insert into content.”
Be careful – it will go where the cursor is in the text. Put it on it’s own line.

Looks like an Outline Group:

Outline (group) data in a worksheet

Try Data, Outline, Ungroup, Clear Outline.
