Location field missing

I am running Outlook 2000. When I create a new appointment in the Calendar, I cannot enter a Location for the appointment as the text box beside the “Location:” label is missing! This may not be an Outlook-specific problem as I am also missing the “Named:” text box when I use the “Start/Find/Files or Folders”. Any ideas would be appreciated.
