Lock down a file

Hi all: I have been asked to create a company photo album (photo directory) to be stored on our network accessible to all employees. Basically employees photos with a small company related paragraph of information. Some day it may need to be accessible via the Web (maybe).
The BIGGEST issue is the insistence of the Big Bosses that NOTHING in the document be copyable. They don’t want any of the pictures or text or the file itself to be copyable. They want it viewable on any company computer.
The stumbling block for me is any screen capture will get around their no copy policy. Is there a way to lock down a file?
I have thought of making PDF but the PDF itself is subject to copying.

Generally speaking, anything delivered through a browser can be saved or reproduced. The only exceptions I’ve seen are plugins, such as Windows Media Player, that write directly to the screen; in order to capture that you usually need an external device such as a camera or camcorder. Of course, it seems absurd to try to deliver an entire company directory as Windows Media… maybe there are some DRM technologies that could help.

Nothing will prevent you pressing the PrintScreen button and pasting / printing.

True nothing can pervent you from pressing the button but you can disable the cmmand which comes from the button.

This won’t stop screen capture programs like IrfanView.

In Windows, even NTFS, if you can read a file, you can copy it.

Snipping tool has always worked for me whenever a website has blocked me from copying pictures on their website.

With all of the high quality cameras in cell phones these days, someone could always snap a picture of the picture with their cell phone.

Of course, I doubt that your boss would realize that people could use cameras in that way.

But Snipping Tool will always work. Unless there is a policy that you can set to block it.

I’d look into setting a Windows policy to block all such attempts.
