    Here’s the HTML for the post at http://saveliberty.blogspot.com/2005/12/quote-of-day_28.html%5B/url%5D. Note: I had Blogger insert the picture, instead of doing it manually, so I don’t know what the extra code (e.g., “onblur”) is.

      It probably doesn’t appear because of the row about whether it should go in the Title attribute or the Alt attribute. In Firefox you need to install an extension Popup ALT Attribute.

      According to the “official” HTML specifications, the alt attribute was intended to be displayed if the picture fails to load correctly. It was not intended to specify the tooltip text. FireFox adheres to the standard. Internet Explorer does use the alt attribute to display a tooltip, and since it is so widely used, people have become used to this behavior.
      You can use the title attribute to specify a tooltip that will be displayed in both IE and FireFox.
