• Lookup with leading zeros (Excel 2003)

Subject edited by HansV to be less vague than “excel”

I have a 6-digit field used in a look-up. If I type in leading zeros, no value is found from the look-up. How can I accomodate users typing in just the number (as 6543) which works, and users typing in the number as a 6-digit number (as 006543) which doesn’t work.

      Welcome to Woody’s Lounge!

Could you attach a small sample workbook (max. 100 KB) to a reply, so that we have an idea what you’re working with and how the formulas that you have operate? Thanks in advance.

My apologies for the vague subject. Please forgive, I’m new! Also found that I do not have a problem with leading zeros; it was other formatting whichI have corrected. I thank you for your speedy response.
