Ok, here is a new “problem” it may or may not be related to my previous problem (see previous post from me).

Now that the two computers can “talk” and share stuff the laptop (running XP) on the wireless continously dropped the network connection. To reset we must remove the pcmcia card, re-insert and the connection will be up for a while before going down again.

This occurs even if the wireless connection is excellent.

Is the laptop going to sleep?
If so, you will need to turn OFF this function while on the network.
Hope you are not running on batteries.

Hi Dave, no it isn’t going to sleep. I can have the connection up with a browser and/or e mail up and running and it just goes away.

By chance is anything getting moved that may block the IR signal?

Boy, I wish it was so simple. The laptop can be on a chair right next to me about 5 feet from the CP2W wireless connection point the the signal will just go away.

I am wondering if there is something like a software conflict within the network settings.

I am using netbuei, and since it is XP the wireless card is bridged.
