I have somehow lost the ability to use the pushpin feature on the Solution Explorer, Properties and other windows that appear on the right side of the screen. The toolbox (on the left side) is fine. I’ve tried deleting and re-installing, but same thing occurs. I’ve tried toggling between the Hide, Dockable and Floating Window features but that won’t fix it. When I do get the pushpin to show, the window expands all the way to the left side of the screen, obscuring the design area. and will not re-size. I’m stumped.

Any ideas how to fix? Thanks in advance.

I had a problem with my toolbox, which deleting and re-installing didn’t fix
      – the answer was to delete a config file, which the VS IDE then rebuilt, and voila, my toolbox was working again

I’m wondering if this approach might solve your problem
      – BUT, I can’t remember the file
      – you could try googling the Microsoft news groups for my name and see if you can track the response where the Microsoft person told me about this deletion

Another thought, there is an option in VS IDE to reset

        Steve,

Thanks for responding. I forgot that I had posted here. I did find the answer to my question. Under Tools / Options / General there is a “Reset Windows Layout” button. That did the trick.
