Been away for a while and this machine has been used by others, and now it keeps dropping the connection because it’s flipping into airplane mode.

Took me a while to figure out what was happening even that far, and I have no idea of the cause or correction for this.

    Any ideas?

    TIA,

There is a Langalist article in a January newsletter that may help
      https://www.askwoody.com/preparing-for-the-windows-7-winter/

The Search The Lounge searchbox on the sidebar may give additional hits, I only gave the top one. Please post again if this does not answer your question. Give additional information on any local condition that seems common to all occurrences. Such as power source (mains/battery), active state or waking from sleep, application in use, any other detail that seems relevant. Information helps.

Do you have a laptop? Does the airplane mode key exhibit stiction? Is the keyboard worn from use, has their been spilt liquids? And do you know if food might have been near the machine?

@ anonymous OK, I tried the article and didn’t see anything that immediately raised any flags. And the machine in question is a laptop, button not sticky, and I believe that the house sitter and guests were responsible enough not to spill food or drink on the machine.

However, one thing you mentioned might have some relevance.  I’ve been having some work done on the house and haven’t ruled out, now that you’ve made me think on it, the wonky behaviour and the use of power tools.  I’ll check that tomorrow.

Actually this sometimes happens to me, didnt thought of blaming microsoft with this issue. In my case, its just faulty slider-button. It seems to be on one side, but time from time, there is just blinkig notification that airplane mode is on/off. Carefully touch the button, until it stops blinking. Repeat when it happens again.
