Here is my problem. We have a back office accounting system, that generates three different PDF documents per company, each month. Is it possible to have some kind of macro on Windows to automatically merge the three PDF docs into one doc and give it a name? I’ve been scratching my head over this for sometime, but can’t seem to find any solution. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

      Hello,

I wonder whether the free utility pdfk.exe from AccessPDF would help. It works from the command line and I’ve used it successfully to join PDFs together. It should be possible to create a batch file using it but I’m not sure how you would go about creating the file names automatically. I guess you want to generate different file names each month?

Take a look at FreewarePDF. It’s free and will merge multiple PDF documents or parts of PDF docs into one document.

      From their site:
      Merging PDF files
Merge any number of different file types, including (parts of) PDF files, into one PDF.

By the way, the actual software is PDFCreator, which is explained and illustrated by the author of FreewarePDF. To merge two existing PDFs required printing them through PDFCreator. In my limited experience printing PDF to PDF print drivers with other products, the text became exaggerated in a strange way. Perhaps this product avoids that problem.

      Hi muscle,

From your description it seems Chris’ post has the solution for you. However, any time I read something like “Windows macro” I automatically think of AutoIt. It’s been of great help for many Loungers so you might want to give it a whirl.
