    Eeek!
Just converted to Office 2007 and my custom toolbars and custom menu items (which I had come to rely on for speed and efficiency in Excel 2003) don’t work, and don’t appear to be editable! Is it possible to create some custom toolset in Excel 2007 where I can make my many macros readily available again? Can someone point me to some worthy references?

You can use the Quick Access Toolbar. See Reference: Locations of Excel 2003 commands in Excel 2007.

        Thanks Hans,
I started down that road, but I have at least 20 macros that I would add right away, which makes for a rather cluttered Quick Access toolbar. Additionally I had a couple of custom toolbars that i used specifically for editing data from certain sources, where I would make the toolbar visible only when I was editing such data. So there’s no easy way to add groups to the ribbon, or add a custom menu tab?

It’s possible to customize the Ribbon, but it’s more complicated than customizing toolbars. See Change the ribbon in Excel 2007.

Nice link there. TX (I’ll be studying this more at a later point!)

            Thanks Hans and Rudi!
These last 2 links are more than enough to keep me busy for now. What a grand adventure! I’m sure my needs will change as I become more familiar with the new locations of certain commands and the keyboard shortcuts to access them, as several of my handy macros were just one-step means of accomplishing what would take 4 or 5 steps in the 2003 menu system.

Pieterse has a website that deals with this type of query. See : http://www.jkp-ads.com/articles/DistributeMacro04.htm%5B/url%5D, esp. at the bottom of the page where he deals with Excel 2007. Also click on the previous link to get more detail on customising the ribbon to add a group. I’m sure you could get more details directly from him when he is back on-line again!

Your custom toolbars should all appear on the add-ins tab. Changes made to the right-click shortcut menus seem, for the most part, to work as they did.
