Is there a maximum number of pages in a Visio file?

    Cheers

I wonder whether you ever found an answer to this question. My cube-mate has hit an apparent 26-page limit to the number of pages that he can print or reorder, and is desperate for a workaround. His project has far more than 26 diagrams and they should ideally be stored as a single Visio file. (I am sending this inquiry since he has not yet learned the value of Woody’s Lounge, but I’m workiong on him.)

      Thanks.

        No, I’m afraid not.

I don’t know about Visio 2000 but if you upgraded to Visio 2003 then you should find the limit to be somewhat higher.

I added pages up to Page 130 and was still going strong. Of course, I didn’t put any content in it but the same page limit doesn’t appear to be the case in Visio 2003.

          Thanks as always, Andrew.

Apparently v.2000 is no different than v.2003, the number of pages and background pages in a Visio drawing is dependant on the complexity of the drawings and the amount of available memory – similar to Excel and worksheets.

The limit relates to the total size of all the shapesheets from all shapes multiplied by their complexity. A good allowable base to use is 1500 2-D shapes plus 3000 1-D shapes for a total of 4500 shapes per page – exceeding this may cause you problems…

Thank you so much. It’s good to know that we’re not losing our minds.
