In my opinion they shouldn’t rush to release itsomething, even if its the final version, it doesn’t mean all of the problems will be fixed. Knowing windows they may have broken something to make this things work.

Just someone who don't want Windows to mess with its computer.

My advice to Microsoft is stop doing any sort of scheduled releases setup far in advance. Release when its ready, not when you have to.  I would really like a option to delay with home edition for at least 90 days with a option to manually install. I have yet to see any new feature that I couldn’t wait 90 days plus for.

Alternatively, don’t merge a set of changes into the main Windows code base until it’s been thoroughly tested!

        Oh, right…. testers……..

v1803 release was late and MS was thrown off schedule. Consequently, v1803 was declared ready for business in fewer weeks than was normal apparently in order to put MS back on schedule.

I’m wondering if this will have the same effect on v1809 – declaring it suitable for business after an unprecedented short time, before it is really ready for general distribution, just for the sake of a schedule.

I fear that may not only happen this time – but it may become the norm.

It was not approved, but these behaviors are probably now normal habit for Microsoft.

I know when I’ll probably install this update. About a week before the next Feature Update hits the MS Updates download chute. Then defer that one. I’m on ver. 1803 now.

We fixed the issue where dragging (extracting) files from a .zip file in File Explorer to a write-protected location you don’t get a “Do you want to replace these files” prompt and the copy action fails silently.

      Erhh… what?

I’m missing something here, why should I get that message when dropping a file on a write-protected location? And of course the copy action will fail?!

Why can’t I even read a clear text anymore??

and then there’s this recent article by Gregg Keizer of Computerworld:
      https://www.computerworld.com/article/3317560/microsoft-windows/as-windows-10-delay-continues-support-shortfall-grows.html

let’s see if v1809 will be re-released on Halloween; time is running out in October 2018

It is a bit messy because if the October 2018 patch .104 is installed, the current one .107 refuses to install because of the KB number which is the same. Certainly not for the majority of users, but on the other hand the fact that it is officially on the Insider track gives them an excuse to not pay enough attention to the numbers.

      • #228369

That’s not true. My .104 updated to .107 just fine.

well ch100, I first uninstall the original KB4464455 (build 17763.104) patch first, reboot and then install KB4464455 v2 patch using dism.exe, reboot again and I get build 17763.107 on a test PC running Win10 v1809 pro.

It looks like the 1809 release of Win10 will be re-launched or re-released in November as October has barely ended; maybe the re-released 1809 version could be called the November 2018 Update 🙂
