Microsoft Hoses Outlook 365 – Can not view message text or preview messages

Microsoft apparently decided to unilaterally move all Outlook settings to the Cloud. Before 9:30am pdt this morning I was able to view messages and view preview messages without a problem. After 1:15pm pdt, message text and images could only be viewed in the IE browser. It appears that Microsoft decided to move all Outlook settings to the Cloud. After the fact during troubleshooting, a message popped up about the settings change. I unchecked the “Cloud storage options” – “Store my Outlook settings in the cloud” option, after running the Microsoft 365 online repair. Neither action fixed the problem. Looking for support, the Microsoft support chat line had over 1500 in line to chat. The phone call back had a wait time of over 465 minutes. Jeeessse, when will Microsoft learn not to make unilateral changes to application Options – settings?????
