If you have a favourite PowerToy of the ones I haven’t covered yet – or one that you can’t figure out the point of! – drop me a note here so I can make sure to try and include it in a future piece.

I have a few PowerToys bits and pieces which I like to use, including some of the ones you’ve already mentioned in your very informative article.

I like the Toy which allows me to grab the text from a graphical Windows Settings or other Windows system pane. Or, the results from a Windows Defender Scan Report.

One other example is the All Apps List. Then I can make a Word (or LibreOffice Writer) Document containing the text. Very helpful when trying to track versions of 117 installed applications!

I know this feature is now built into MS Paint. But the PowerToys version is simpler to use and just as effective.

My favorite also.  It’s so useful and works almost everywhere.

I always wonder if developers purposely put important info, such as error codes or messages in image windows to block users from easily copying and reporting the info?

There is one major problem with this toy though – it only copies info vertically.  Apparently, this is some sort of Windows limitation.

what do you mean by only vertically? I have a possible workaround I can put in the next piece but I’m not seeing the issue myself.

Is there a powertoy or some other tool to make onedrive STRICTLY backup so that EVERYTHING is on my drives?

(confession – your article was quite long – and you may have mentioned this… sorry…)

onedrive STRICTLY backup so that EVERYTHING is on my drives?

Yes. This assumes you have Onedrive installed on your drive.

View the list Onedrive folders in file explorer and note the “Status” column. Highlight all the folders then right click and choose “Always keep on this device”. I use this setting myself so everything is in the cloud and on my drive.
