W10, which I use for work, seems to be plague with numerous aggravating problems that seem to come and go. My favorite is having to log into W10 twice before I can see the desktop; aggravating but not a show stopper. These are the kinds of issues that makes me wonder why anyone who does not need W10 should use W10. Users should not be dealing with these issues and MS’ lackadaisical fixing of them does not help either.

These problems are not minor and the update should be skipped until more data is available.  I’m not going to be restoring system images every month because the problems may be “minor”.

For the first time in my relatively short Windows 10 Pro (1909) life, I have encountered a failed update with KB4565351. It downloads and looks like it installs fine, but on the requested restart, it reconfigures up to 95% and then gives me the “we couldn’t complete the updates – undoing changes” message. Windows update then says I am up to date which clearly I am not. On checking, the error code is 0x800f0922. I have experienced this twice now and I am now looking at the standard/usual solutions for failed updates but I am not sure if I can be that bothered.

first update fail on win10 4 me 2, am running stock intel rig no grfx card

KB4565351 fail install both via update & download via catalogue

miserable MS. how soon will MS become useless

Thanks for the info Woody, but I’m not sure I’d describe broken audio, blue death screens and a variety of unhelpful error messages as “minor problems”!

Yes, these are not minor problems and advice should be to skip them for now.

(My advice is definitely to skip them for now. There are no pressing security holes patched by this month’s updates. That’s why we’re on MS-DEFCON 2!)

I use the term “minor” to reflect the volume of complaints – not their severity.

If we could narrow down specific circumstances that lead to a BSOD, for example, the needle would jump more toward “major.”

I wonder if the audio issue could be the same one for Realtek mentioned before here, where it breaks if you had any special audio features turned on, like volume normalization, EQ settings, etc. Supposedly disabling those features would restore audio.
