I have Outlook 2000 running of Windows 2000 pro. Personal contact list is no longer available from within addressing dialog box when creating a new email. Contacts are visibly there (when I click on contacts tab) but aren’t available when creating email. The link seems to have disappeared. Not available within profile information too. Just showing global address list. help please. thanks

Did you import these contacts, if so did the email address come over?
I have found that the import may NOT bring the email address’s and if there is NO email address for a contact they will not be listed when trying to send email.

Try right clicking on the Contacts folder and going to Properties. Go to the ‘Outlook Address Book’ tab and check that the ‘show this folder as an e-mail address book’ option is ticked.

If you don’t have the ‘show this folder as an e-mail address book’ option, you need to first define the Outlook Address Book service through Tools/Services.
