How can I find out if monitoring software has been installed on my computer, ie the sort where people in my network can take snapshots or see in real time which websites I am on etc?

You can use an anti-spyware tool such as Malwarebytes Anti-malware, but this will only detect software that has been installed on your computer. It is possible to monitor which websites you visit by sniffing the network from another computer, or by using software installed on the router.

Use a utility called Tiny Watcher. Google it, it is first on the list.

      It is free. It works.

The program starts by taking a snapshot of important parts of your Windows system; then it tracks
changes (every time you log in, or whenever you want to). When a change is detected, you are notified.

When a suspicious item is detected, however, you will be informed about it. You will be able to decide
what to do about it (some items can be disabled or removed right away).
