I recently had to replace my mouse. When I did, I got a separate USB stick for it. When I installed it, only the mouse worked, but the keyboard didnโt. I put the original USB stick in another USB port and a lot of software was downloaded. Now both work, but the button on top of my keyboard which is supposed to bring up Windows Live Mail now brings up MS Outlook. How do I get WLM back?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody LoungerJune 9, 2014 at 7:38 pm #1456038I went to the download section and the drivers I need are referred to as “Input Device Drivers”. Unfortunately, when I get to the download drivers section, there are no drivers listed for input devices. Maybe that’s because I have a working keyboard. I’m tempted to order a Dell mouse like the one that quit and after I get it, go back to a point before I installed the latest one, and instal the Dell mouse. That would avoid the problem I’m having.

AskWoody LoungerJune 10, 2014 at 3:12 pm #1456116Hi, Joe
What does llRC mean? Here’s what I did. I found “Dell ll0116a (keyboard software).zip” in My Briefcase on the desktop. I installed it. Then I uninstalled Microsoft Outlook and re-booted the computer. When I hit the “mail” button at the top of the keyboard, it brought up WLM. That was good, but when I re-installed Outlook, the same problem occurred. I checked the notification area and had a lot of stuff listed there, including WLM.

When you install Outlook it is registered as the default application for email. It appears that the keyboard software is starting the default mail application. You need to have WLM registered as the default mail application. What operating system are you using?

AskWoody LoungerJune 12, 2014 at 5:10 pm #1456429Hi Joe –
You kind of left me hanging. I was expecting you to tell me how to make WLM the default mail program. I have looked carefully at Outlook to see if there is a way to “undelete” its default situation, and I have looked carefully at WLM to see if I could find a way to make it the default. No success with either effort.Do you have an answer or does anyone else out there have one?
