Every since building a new computer for Windows 11, my mouse click seems to be oversensitive. Same mouse as I was using under Windows 10. Too often, it seems the computer thinks I’ve double-clicked when I’ve only single clicked. For example, if I click on a message entry in Outlook, the message opens up in its own window as if I’ve double clicked on it. Doesn’t happen all the time, so it’s been hard to nail down the cause of this.

I’ve checked all the settings I can find, and don’t find anything pertaining to click sensitivity, just movement sensitivity. Just wondering if anyone else has observed this.

This seems like a very obvious and over simplified long shot….

I’m using Win 10 so Win 11 may NOT have this setting available, but if it does, experiment with the double click speed and slow it way down.

Thanks for that tip. I had experimented with that setting in the past, but I think I misunderstood the effect the slider was having. At first, it didn’t seem to make any difference (which is why I posted my plea for help), but after a bit more experimenting, it has seemed to help after all.

So, thanks very much for the assistance!
