This doesn’t happen every time or everyday, more like every other day, but sometimes I have to click the mouse 4 to 6 times to get a link to work or to get from OE to IE. I have changed from a USB mouse to a PS2 mouse and it didn’t make any difference. I have run a re-install of Windows XP Pro and that didn’t help. After I did the re-install and before I installed up the updates again, I tried the mouse thing and it was still a problem. Sometimes I have to copy and paste a link because the mouse won’t get me there. It’s not a major thing but it is aggravating. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I’m sure you’ve checked the mouse driver in device manager, and be sure it’s updated to the
latest. Also I don’t know what kind of USB or if it’s cordless, but another place to check is the button on the transmitter if there is a transmitter, and on the bottom of the USB mouse there is often a tiny pinpoint button that you can hold in and reset. Sometimes this helps. Also there are a number of hints at the Logitech support site that apply to most USB manufacturers’ devices.SMBP

AskWoody LoungerMay 25, 2003 at 12:49 am #679559Thanks for the info. So far I haven’t found any of the information that helps me. I have decided the USB mouse is probably dead and the PS2 mouse ? I don’t know. I think I will go pick up a new USB/PS2 mouse next week. See the problem isn’t that it isn’t working, it just isn’t working well or correctly. It takes 3 to 6 mouse clicks sometimes to do something and other times it works fine. The mouse driver is a MS PS2 mouse driver dated 7/01 that came with XPP. So I’ll try a new mouse to see if that is really the problem, since that isn’t a very expensive way to go.
