MemberMarch 30, 2022 at 1:11 am #2435316It looks fine.
Why did you think it was necessary?By the way, I still think that having a PC (Macs included) ‘hadware’ section would be really useful.
There are many important and common hardware problems that are not dependent on the OS.
For example: forgetting to plug the PC to the mains, or to turn it on are both problems that can happen regardless of what sort of PC it is.
Two truly universal problems, one might say.Ex-Windows user (Win. 98, XP, 7); since mid-2017 using also macOS. Presently on Monterey 12.15 & sometimes running also Linux (Mint).
MacBook Pro circa mid-2015, 15" display, with 16GB 1600 GHz DDR3 RAM, 1 TB SSD, a Haswell architecture Intel CPU with 4 Cores and 8 Threads model i7-4870HQ @ 2.50GHz.
Intel Iris Pro GPU with Built-in Bus, VRAM 1.5 GB, Display 2880 x 1800 Retina, 24-Bit color.
macOS Monterey; browsers: Waterfox "Current", Vivaldi and (now and then) Chrome; security apps. Intego AV -

AskWoody PlusMarch 30, 2022 at 1:48 am #2435320Go to Forums and under AskWoody support there’s a link entitled “PC Hardware”. There are 5 fora there and I notice that under the “Questions: How to Troubleshoot Hardware Problems” there is a topic about Time Machine on Macs that you started (that’s not intended to be a jab OscarCP :-))

What happened is that there was this thread started by someone who explained, both in the title and in his original comment, that when trying to eject an external hard disk, the thing would just not go away. I had exactly the same problem, except that this other person’s machine is Windows something or other and mine is a Mac running Big Sur. So I thought: Great! this is also my problem, and someone has already taken the trouble to start a thread on it, so I am going to post here my own story. Then I was told in no uncertain terms to buzz off by a well-know local personality, because this was a Windows something of other thread.
So I reasoned that as there are 591,468,978,345 different versions of the Windows operating system alone by now, there would have to be more threads than that, altogether, counting macOS versions and the diverse Linux distros, all on the very same problem, to cover the lot. I ended by pointing out that this was not a very efficient way to do this, but failed to convince.
So here I am at it again. I am such an optimist!
Such is my tale of woe that, paradoxically no doubt, moves me to propose again what I have proposed before.
But you might be right, and maybe this is not all that necessary, because there will be less threads on the same topic than I have estimated, taking into account what you wrote.
